As an animal lover I was given a birthday gift of "shadow a keeper" hadn't been to a zoo for years and not a great lover of animals in confined spaces however "Paradise Zoo" has changed my perception of Zoo's due solely to the quality of care and devotion given by without exception All the members of staff.
My friend and I found them to be very knowledgeable, caring and dedicated working long hours and often six days a week can't be easy in all weathers but their caring for the animals is paramount.
This Zoo is privately owned and they should be very proud of their staff who do make the difference in making this zoo very special.
Taking note from a previous reviewer who mentioned the cages were too small that was our first reaction but having the hands on experience you find out that these animals are constantly taken out for exercise and not confined as it appears.
The zoo was extremely clean, every single member of staff was helpful informative and extremely pleasant.
A wonderful day out whatever age and if you go don't be afraid to ask questions especially about the animals welfare, they'll be happy to advise you.
The experience was faultless! From start to finish I felt like a valued member of the team. It exceeded my expectations. I interacted with so many animal and helped with the feeds and clearing out. As a massive animal lover the animals welfare is always on my mind but Paradise Wildlife Park are very much caring for the welfare of the animals. The stories you are told are heart warming and the keepers are so passionate about what they do. It was the best and most rewarding experience of my life and I did not want it to end.
*Please note this is a review about my experience, not about the park itself. I was there to just look after animals, and therefore can't comment on ancillary attractions such as kids play areas.*
My husband bought me this as a birthday present, and it didn't disappoint! You get to meet so many keepers, most of whom work solely in one area and are therefore very knowledgeable about their animals. Some of the keepers look after animals that you can get very hands-on with, and this really enriched the visit as well as taking part in several feeding times.
I think I got to see each and every animal, and the keepers have such lovely bonds with them that they're instantly comfortable with a new stranger in their midst although we didn't push any animals who didn't seem too up for it. You also get to muck out some areas - beware as some visitors think you work there and start asking questions!
The day feels like a long one, in a good way, but be prepared for information overload! Also allow for the visit to be between 9-5.45; the small print says you can leave when you want but this will mean you miss out on some animals if perhaps you haven't given them advanced warning,
A great experience for an animal lover, and a privilege to get so close to the animals.

A fantastic two on one experience with just the two of you and a wild life park keeper, shadowing them throughout their day and participating in awesome wildlife park keeping activities. Paradise Wildlife Park is known as Europe’s leading zoo for ‘Animal Experiences’ so you know you are going to have a fantastic time!
To start the day, at 9am you will be greeted with complimentary refreshments at the park’s Discovery Centre. Next a park team member runs through some health and safety information with you and tells you more about what can be expected as part of your wildlife park keeping experience. Then the really fun part of the day will begin.
With a Paradise Wildlife Park shadow a keeper experience, you will get to be involved behind the scenes doing a wide variety of keeper activities, from preparing food for the park animals, cleaning out their enclosures, exercising the animals and hand feeding them too. As your safety is imperative to Paradise Wildlife Park you won’t get to be hands on with the carnivore section at the zoo, but you will still get the opportunity to be there for the Big Cat Feed and listen in when the Wolf Talk is given to regular visitors to the park.
Lunch will be provided at the park’s on-site restaurant, and the day doesn’t end until five in the afternoon. You will both receive a T-shirt and certificate to commemorate your day as a wildlife park keeper and you will have a once in a life time experience to remember for always, that you got to share with someone special.
Paradise Wildlife Park is home to over 400 animals, and it is the only place in the UK to house all five big cats! They have farmyard animals, exotic tropical rainforest creatures, wolves, cats, reptiles, small mammals, African savannah land inhabitants and more. But the fun doesn’t stop with the animals!
It also houses adventure playgrounds, a Speedway museum, a farm yard for hands on experiences for all visitors, a mini-golfing area, a soft play area, train and tractor rides, other rides and slides, and a paddling pool lagoon for the kids to swim in. There are four dedicated eateries on site as well as in park kiosks, so refreshments are never far away. You can even eat whilst watching some of your favourite animals.
Paradise Wildlife Park is truly a wonderland of entertainment for the entire family. Not only that, it has developed a reputation for providing visitors with incredible animal encounter experiences.
The park is situated north of London in Hertfordshire, can be reached by car via the A10, M1,and A1 and is near the junction 25 of the M25.
If travelling via the A10 take the Broxbourne/Turnford exit signposted as A1170. If coming down on the M1, go to junction 6a and take the M25 left towards Dartford Crossing, until you reach junction 25. From the A1, travel down the A1(M) to junction 1 and take the M25 left towards Dartford Crossing.
From each of these points, the rest of the way will be signposted with the typical brown tourist signage.
